Wow, I love this piece. The fire stream looks like a sort of felt, and gives the entire image a kid's toy feel. You did an amazing job on the texture of the rocket-it looks like porcelain, and it really gives the illusion that it's been glossed. I'm in awe of the varying edges-how you can go from a smoothed out corner to a flate pointy one. Excellent work!
As for critique, I'm hard pressed to find any. The one thing I notice is the very rounder corners of the fins. Perhaps if they were a bit less over constructed they might give the whole thing a softer feel. Second, perhaps a few minor imprefections in it (Bumps in the rocket, small dents, etc.) would make it seem altogether more used and more realistic.
This makes me want stronger bones. Very creative style, incredible texture. And I don't know why, but also hilarious. Its begging for a superhero to jump in and ride around in it.
the place where the fire meets the bottle is wierd..
a) Is the 2d fire placed just behind the rockethole?
b) There is shadow on the top of the flames, and they are on the lightsource that paints the light on the bottom of the rocket
thanks for your comment, i know the fire emission part is not ideally solved.
a) it is in the "middle", right below the rockethole, not behind.
b) i know about the shadows, but i deliberately left it, it is supposd to look more like a comic than a realistic.
Very cool idea, I really like the creativity that you've displayed in creating this render. The modelling is well done and the transition from milk top to rocket is quite smooth. The flames are an interesting touch as they hint at a 2D feel while remaining a 3D model. Finally, the colors give the image a nice, clean personality, which I am a big fan of. Very nice work, I really dig this piece.
